Reticulated Silver Earrings

These silver earrings are made of the finest materials and are each as unique as a thumb print. The process of reticulation is tedious and each set of earrings are made in small batches. 

"Reticulation is sometimes called the "black art of metalsmithing" and involves repeatedly heating and quenching the metal, which causes the copper to concentrate at the core and the pure silver to rise to the surface. The different melting points of the two layers create tension in the metal, causing the surface to wrinkle and develop a hills-and-valleys texture."
